Want to be a change agent?

We’re looking for people who want to make a difference in the world, to fulfill Maria Montessori’s vision of world peace, and to help children truly fulfill their infinite potential.  Are you one of those people?  If yes, join us.

First, review our grant guidelines.  These guidelines explain the criteria a grant applicant must adhere to in order to obtain a grant from us.  These are the guidelines our grant committee uses to evaluate an applicant, and they are the guidelines we as an organization believe in.

We meet our grant applicants where they are in their Montessori journey.  They come to us, we don’t seek them.  They tell us about their community, their ambition for their teacher training, how they’ll outfit their classrooms and/or improve their school capacity.  Most importantly, they tell us how their initiative will benefit the children.

We know that they are experts for their community, with deep knowledge about their school, their parents and children and about their Montessori initiative needs.  We know that community led, community driven Montessori initiatives have long term sustainability.

After you review our grant guidelines, have read about our current volunteer opportunities and you know you fit, fill out this form to let us know more about you. When we’ve reviewed your information, we’ll reach out to you.

Guide your students as they learn about philanthropy by conducting a fundraiser

Are you a Montessori teacher/guide at the elementary or adolescent levels? We have a turnkey student-based classroom or school fundraiser, called Children for Change. It’s designed for elementary or adolescent children to learn about philanthropy, who are philanthropists, and what philanthropists do. Then they create, plan, execute and finally critique a fundraiser they design. MGGF provides the support materials to help them learn about philanthropy, project planning, teamwork, and best of all seeing how their efforts can have a positive impact on an under-resourced community.

In 2022, four US-based Montessori schools raised more than $5,000 for Ukrainian relief.

Uncover a grant opportunity

Do you know of a Montessori school in an under-resourced area? Perhaps you know someone who dreams of starting a Montessori school that serves an under-served population. We want to meet these dreamers. Encourage them to visit our website, www.montessori-mggf.org/grant-request-guidelines to see if they meet our criteria for a grant. If they do, help them write their grant request.

Become a fundraiser

You can become a fundraiser, spreading the word about MGGF to your friends, family and co-workers, encouraging them to support a cause you believe in. When we are raising money for a grant recipient that truly speaks to your heart, we’d love to have you join us in fundraising.

Does your company have a matching gift program? Many corporations do. But they need you to tell them about your donation. Reach out to your HR department and ask what needs to be done to match your gift to MGGF. And if you have family members that work for a corporation with a matching gift program, ask them to let their HR department know about their donation.

Some corporations encourage their employees or associates to volunteer. Or they host a non-profit day, where non-profits can talk about their mission and vision. Would you be willing to talk about MGGF? We’ll supply you with materials for you to present. Just let us know.
