VšĮ Garstyčios Grūdelis (The Mustard Seed)

Due to the success of their 3-6 program The Mustard Seed was determined to open a classroom for 6-12 so their current students could continue their Montessori education. In order to do this they requested funds for teacher training. One of their goals is to not only provide continuity in education for their students and school but to spread the Montessori method within greater Lithuania as well where it is not well known. With the support of MGGF they will be able to provide an authentic Montessori education to their students. Because Montessori is not widespread in the country this gift will make a significant impact on their vision to expand their school and educate the larger community.

Located in Kaunas, Lithuania and serving 17 children ages one to six years old, VšĮ Garstyčios Grūdelis’s mission is to provide a high fidelity Montessori education to their students and also educate their parents on how to incorporate Montessori into their daily living.

The Montessori way of education is not well known in Lithuania. In addition to educating the school families they also are engaging in work to make Montessori more known in Lithuania.

MGGF is proud to provide funds for Montessori materials acquisition for the new 3-6 Montessori classroom. This new classroom was born out of the desire of the current parents to move their children up to the next stage of Montessori learning. These new materials will provide a firm foundation to help this school continue to thrive and grow and be a resource to their community moving forward.
