Lilima’s vision states, “A peaceful world: which is attained through our children, where all forms of life are respected, creating an inter-dependent global community.” Their plan to achieve this as stated in their application is by establishing in their school a commitment to providing: A holistic Montessori/International Baccalaureate (IB) education which recognizes the physical, emotional, social, entrepreneurial and intellectual capacities of the students, awakening the inner potential of the human spirit; staffed by suitably qualified, inspired and compassionate teachers who are committed to collaborative learning and growth; offering the students a dynamic, prepared environment which meets the specific needs of each adolescent and young adult; inspirating the students with a global perspective encouraging an awareness of their continual social responsibility.

MGGF is proud to serve as a partner with Lilima and contribute towards these goals by providing a grant that will help fully fund training for 4 additional teachers. These teachers will serve in the following capacities to support the students: Language and Literature and nutrition guide, Career programming to include introducing Grade 11 and 12 to the Australian Montessori national curriculum, music and special needs, and a special needs assistant.

The impact of this gift will mean that all staff will have a deeper understanding of the adolescent program and it will empower them as individuals while giving them an added skill-set so that the school can deliver the highest quality Montessori education possible.
